MTB CLUB

The Dukes of Wellington is a new Mountain Bike Club linked to our shop.

 

Our story so far...

We have 4 experienced male riders booked onto MTB leadership training in November 2024 followed by their outdoor first aid training and of course, the required DBS checks. Our ride instructors are experienced MTB riders and racers. One races Elite category cross-county. One races Elite category Downhill and the other two race Enduro.   We hope to have the first rides scheduled before the end of this year.

Our MTB Club

There will be a number of aspects to our club including:

Junior coaching

Beginner/intermediate coaching

MTB taster sessions

Fun rides

We will predominantly meet at local venues such as the Quantocks, but intend to also have the occasional bike park away day!

Our club will be registered with British Cycling, so those that are of the required standard can race under the club banner. 

We have also had expressions of interest in a ladies section and private tuition. 

Calling on female MTB riders...

The shop is paying for the coaching and first aid courses, relevant checks and insurance. Our graphic designer Pie has created the new club logo and our friends at 'One Hand Lift' will take care of printing club clothing...

We are looking for one or two experienced female MTB riders to qualify as instructors. 

We need the shop supported to ensure it is a continuing viable business to support the club and riders with sponsorship. We are looking for expressions of interest in those interested in being involved at some level.
